About Me
If you could only use two words to describe me, they would be creative, and messy. What better medium than clay to embody that! My journey with pottery started as a kid learning from my uncle. Over the years I dabbled in clay, but it wasn’t until 2024 that I took wheel throwing Level 1+2. Since then I have spent everyday learning and loving clay. I mainly work on the wheel but also enjoy the freedom of hand building. My other passion is fiber. I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. Through sewing I found embroidery and knitting. After my fiancé brought home a failed project, I was determined to fix it! So, I taught myself how to knit and soon after I was addicted. Since then I have made many garments and started writing my own patterns. When I’m not at the studio or buried in yarn, you can find me sipping some tea surrounded by my forest of house plants.
FAQ's
- Is it machine washable?
Pottery: Yes! All my pottery is dishwasher safe, top rack only. Leave room between dishes to minimize chance of chipping. Hand washing is always safest.
Knitwear: No, hand wash only. Squeeze out as much water as you can. DO NOT wring out knitwear as that can cause felting. Lay flat to dry. DO NOT machine dry, it will felt and shrink up.
- Is it Microwave safe?
Almost all my pottery is microwave safe! There are 2 exceptions, 1. any pieces with gold or sliver details. 2. any pieces made from black clay. In both instances there are high levels of metal in the pieces that will spark if put in the microwave.
- My item looks a little different from the photo, why?
All pieces are handmade by me, Jade, so there are slight differences between each piece. I am not a machine so these are completely normal and unavoidable.
- I don't live in Canada, can I still purchase from you?
Unfortunately I am currently only able to ship in Canada, but please send me an email to see if we can make something work!
- Are items returnable?
No, all items are final sale.
- My order was delivered broken, what should I do?
Please email (stitchworksart@gmail.com) me photos of both the box as it was delivered and the item. I will replace the item as best I can and as fast as I can.
